Hi there, I wanted to tell you about Lucky Sushi, a vintage little restaurant in Vancouver that I love. It’s more than just a place to get drinks and sushi; it’s like going into a small Japanese street in the middle of the city. You’ll enjoy exploring all of the unique elements they’ve incorporated into the room if you like unique design and cozy atmospheres. Allow me to guide you through it.

The Japanese-style curio cabinet has many of the best highlights. It’s filled with vintage Gekkeikan sake bottles and vintage Okinawa draft beer bottles, which immediately transport you back to traditional Japan. Even a vintage audio setup which inspires creativity and curiosity is hidden there. The wooden cabinet itself has a retro, vintage style that transports you to a small bar in Kyoto.

Then there’s the old Japanese wall clock, which really created my attention. It features two exquisitely carved peacocks and is detailed with golden accents. When you look at it, time seems to slow down for some reason. To be honest, it seems as though it could transport you back in time. It begs the question, “If you could go back in time to any point in the past, when would that be?”

The traditional Japanese izakaya lantern can be found a little further into the restaurant. Like the ones that hang on Tokyo alleyways at night, it is a striking shade of red and glows lightly. The word sushi is written in kanji, which shows the tone and serves as a reminder that you’re getting the real thing. This lantern gives you the impression that you have just been taken to Japan for dinner, even if you have never been there.

The fish shaped ceiling light is my personal favorite element of the design. This lamp is the most noticeable of all the lamps in the restaurant. It’s a stylized white fish that has a playful yet elegant vibe. I believe it perfectly conveys the restaurant’s character. Every time I see it, I smile. It’s something you just must see in person.

Our Highballs are very good and if you order the Neko chan’s ginger shu, it will be served in the cutest glass with a cat design. Did you know that the Japanese word for cat is neko? You’ll likely want to bring this glass home with you, whether or not you’re a cat person. And if you don’t drink, don’t worry. We serve as a version without alcohol. so that it can be enjoyed by all.
<A story about a beer keg>
There’s also a beer keg with a backstory. Are you familiar with well-known Japanese drafts such as Sapporo and Asahi? Imagine enjoying fresh draft beer directly from the source while catching up with friends at the table next to the beer keg. It’s a fun experience, especially if you’ve never tried Japanese beer before.
<Bar counter: comfortable place to relax>
The bar counter is ideal for those times when you’re by yourself. Sometimes all you want is a nice drink and a quiet evening. You can sit here, talk to the bartender, and perhaps even find a new favourite. It’s comfortable, peaceful, and a small private space to relax in.

Near the entrance is a vintage game machine that appeals to everyone’s inner kid. It’s available for you whether you’re waiting for your table or simply want to spice up your evening. Additionally, please let me know if you win!
<A mirror perfect for snapping your best selfies>
Not to be overlooked is the large mirror on the way to the bathroom. Have you ever wondered how you look while on a date? This mirror is here to assist. Additionally, it has evolved into a sort of selfie location for those in their finest attire. Before returning to your table, take a few photos with your friends.
